Steinbeck's classic novella, Of Mice and Men, depicts the tale of George, the fast-talking farm hand, with his blubbering-giant companion, Lennie. Each pursues casual labour (or migrant work) through the California Agricultural Belt; the flawless job during the 1930's. George has developed this mass dream of finding a farm, in which George and Lennie can call their own. The only part of this plan Lennie can remember is, "tending to the rabbits." However, Lennie unwittingly kills the wife of a farm owner's son. This shatters George's initial dream. George must decide whether to take the law into his own hands, or run away from fear, thus continuing their impending cycle.
